« Nothing short of extraordinary ... a truly unique auditory experience ... »
—THE WHOLENOTE
HADRON
Named after the largest and most complex particle accelerator in the world, Hadron thrusts together different historical periods, instruments, genres and disciplines in search of the unknown.
Forsaking a standard instrumentation, Hadron is an ensemble of variable geometry performing musical arrangements made-to-measure for its unique collaborators. Hadron’s repertoire is not hindered by genre definitions and its musicians are equally at home on period and modern instruments, and with classical and non-classical idioms. Taking an interdisciplinary approach to ensemble music, Hadron synthesizes the experiences and perspectives of its collaborators in order with the aim of creating a more comprehensive point of view.
Founded in 2009 by Aleks Schürmer, Hadron has been the Ensemble-In-Residence of Autour de la flûte since 2023.
